Our local branch of Lloyds TSB was robbed at gun point yesterday and the raiders made off with at least £80,000. Gazette report
The robbers got into the bank during the night and lay in wait for the staff.
What happened with the alarm system here? Did they not have a movement alarm? In my last place of employment the alarm was set off by a butterfly and the offending creature was caught on video. It was later caught by the caretaker and identified by its wing markings. If the bank's alarm had somehow been disabled then why did the staff go into the bank? I wonder if the raiders had full knowledge of the system and were able to turn the alarm on and off at will. The men were wearing balaclavas and blue coats but the staff say that they had a local accent.

£80,000 wouldn't buy much more than that especially after they have divided it between the three of them and taken off the price of the balaclavas and the blue coats. Actually it is only a small branch so they were lucky to get as much as that. I wouldn't scoff at £80,000 but it won't even buy you a house these days. It seems daft to risk all for that amount of money. It is reported that they had a sawn-off shot gun and I imagine that they will pay a heavy price if caught.
2 nearby houses were robbed during the week. Beginning to wonder if I should leave the wasps nest as some kind of deterrent. If they are the type of thieves who do their homework first they won't bother to visit me. They would be lucky if they could find £8.
No idea GW. I have never flown in and out of Blackpool but I imagine you will be able to see the sea front - The airport is almost on the sea front. I'll try to find out which way they fly in.
5p !! Is that all it costs to come to Blackpool. Are you sure it is not a trick. How much does it cost to get back home?

The answer to your question - It depends on which way the wind is blowing. The aircraft fly into the wind to land and only come in over the sea if the wind is blowing from the east which would be unusal because it usually blows from the west. You would need to be sat on the left side of the plane and pray for an east wind.
You will probably fly out over the sea.
