Causey Pike from Braithwaite

Went out with the Rambling Club last Sunday and took my son with me. We tagged along with the 'C' party and had a wonderful day. It gave us a chance to spend some time together and repair a few bridges. Too many stresses and strains for both of us, of late.

The club divides itself into three parties with walks of varying degrees. The 'C' party normally does a low level walk around the edge of a lake or on gentle pathways - but not this month. The leader will never live it down. He lost the path and we ended up having to walk over the tops in order to get back to the coach. Some of the group struggled with this but there was no choice in the end. We ended up doing the most strenuous walk of all and the other groups are probably still laughing at us. I am not at my fittest but was pleased that I was forced to push myself a little. It was good for me. My son found it easy and, as he is trying to get fit, he was well pleased with himself.

Although the weather stayed fine, it was not, unfortunately, a good day for photographs - too hazy. Also, I had not taken my tripod or any filters - nor was there time to hang around and think about composition.

Towards the end of the walk my son pointed out that I used to carry his rucksack, now he was being asked to carry mine. Come to think of it - now that I know he is such a fit strong lad, there is no reason why I can't have a tripod with me. :-)

This is where everyone realised that they had a bit of a walk head of them. We sat down for lunch.

I don't seem to be able to save this to my YouTube favourites so I'll put it here for now.

Grrrr and Grrrr again to Microsoft

Microsoft would do well to stop treating all its customs as if they were possible software thieves.

Last night's update no. KB951748 has prevented many people from accessing the Internet and Microsoft are not prepared to help you find a way round this unless you give them all your installation details and the colour of your knickers. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to get on the Internet before I discovered the cause of the problem. The update conflicts with the ZoneAlarm firewall. You would have thought that a firm like Microsoft, who are well aware of the problem, would be prepared to give out some general helpful information. Are they going to issue a new update to fix this or should we uninstall the update? Will we need to rely on the makers of ZoneAlarm?

If you have had problems and you live in the UK give them a ring on 08706010100 and tell them what you think of their latest update!!
